Passion + Fire = Magic!

This is Part 3 in a 3-Part Series into Passion, Fire, and Magic presented in
Amy Cesari’s Coloring Sheets for Beltane Tarot.

Here’s the formula:  Passion + Fire = Magic!

Taking the divine power of your Passion and fueling it with the energy of your
Fire will create the Magic of a purposeful life.

So, what is Magic--really?

Magic is that special supernatural quality to make thrilling things happen in
your life--and in the lives of others.  It is the ability to take and shape the
ordinary events in life and make these moments spectacular and inspiring.

A Scientific View of the Formula

Eric Barker, writer and blogger, proposes there are scientific, logical
components to those often ethereal and magical concepts we humans
use to survive in the human existence (Barker, 2017).

Believe in Luck and Fate. Takes the pressure off for feeling out of control
of events and lets life happen with its own magical outcomes.

Take a Sugar Pill. This helps relieve the bad taste out of bad moments.
This is like the fake-it-until-you-can-make-it mentality.

Develop Ritual-Like Routines. Make mundane moments into exquisite
memories. For example, light candles for everyday mealtimes. Dress-up
for those ordinary activities.

Delude Yourself with Love Relationships. Wear some rose-colored
glasses and see positive traits in those you may not have seen
before. Note: You may need the Sugar Pill.

This is Part 2 of a three-part exploration into Passion, Fire, and
Magic presented in Amy Cesari's Coloring Sheets for Beltane Tarot.

Five Ways to Fuel Your Fire

If Passion is the driving force to create, then Fire is the fuel to
propel your passion forward.  Fire is energy.  It is this unquenchable
energy that makes you want to achieve your passions--regardless of
the consequences.

Do you feel like the definition of insanity?  That is, doing the same
thing over and over again, but expecting a different result? According
to Code (2013, Sept 16), humans like to feel stable in their existence,
being consistent, staying within their comfort zones.  Over time, our
fires dim and soon go out.

What to do?

1.  Comfort zones are survival modes.  Identify what is keeping you
within the bounds of predictability.  Explore the fears that are
holding you back from doing what it is you truly see yourself
doing and becoming.  Then, do it!

Keep this saying in mind:

You can't walk on water if you won't get out of the boat.

2.  Bazin (2011-2020) asserts the best way to find your fire is to
connect with positive-thinking and like-minded people--especially
those with your interests.

On the other hand, be prepared for disconnecting from those who
would anchor you to your present stable, comfort zone existence.

You can't walk on water if you are wearing concrete shoes.

3.  Bazin (2011-2020) suggests limiting interests that no longer serve
to fire-up your passions.  Narrow and focus on a few specific interests
that fuels your passions and master them.

Too many irons in the fire often indicate that some activities
may not get done.

4.  Bradt (n. d.) offers a futuristic reflection on fire and passion.  He states
that we should accept that what fired-up our passions in our younger days
may not be the same flame when we grow older.

Boats change over time, but you alone steer your course.

5.  Think of the greater purpose and focus your fire on how to help
others achieve their passions.

Help others to get out of their boats and walk on water, too.

Five Ways to Find Your Passion in Life

This is Part 1 of a three-part exploration into Passion, Fire, and Magic as presented in Amy Cesari’s Book of Shadows Coloring Sheets for Beltane (May Day) Tarot:

Passion Defined

Passion could be defined as an almost irrepressible emotion, perhaps divine in inspiration, leading to stellar creativity and joy. Passion can also cause pain,
as well as, pleasure. But, all the while, passion must be expressed even if it
produces agony and/or exhilaration.

Passion is not just a romantic notion of uniting as one with another being. It is about uniting with one's self. Passion is derived from experiencing a heightened awareness of purpose and drive.

It is appropriate that true passion is associated with intensity of light. Light is
life-giving power, moving us all forward to greater moments in life and living.
Passion is about exuding energy and vibrancy.

Five Ways to Find Your Passion

1. Look back over your life interests, even from your childhood. Identify the people, places, events, and things that captured your interest--time and time again.

Make a list of these interests. Ask yourself if you would feel loss if that interest was taken away from you.

2. Now, make a list of things you really hate doing. Compare the two lists. Focus your attention on what specifically you liked--even when you were doing something you did not particularly want to do.

3. Ask yourself: What makes me feel good doing? Your lifework should have some of the components to those childhood joys you experienced, but left behind, because you had to act like the adult you became.

4. Seek-out people who share your similar interests and passions. People love to talk about themselves, so ask how they achieved their passions. Learn from their experiences and fashion goals for yourself.

5. Go ahead--do it! Seek your passion. At first, you may have to engage your passionate interests in baby-steps. Treat it as a hobby or week-end get-a-way from responsibilities. Having a few moments of seeking your passion and interests--however small--will make obligations much easier to endure.

The Argonauts Jason & Medea

The words all around us can take on different meanings when we least expect it.  I love Greek myths and I acquired an old, over-sized, water-damaged book.  It is a book for children, but, like animated stories and movies today, there are words for adults only.

For the sake of not losing the original impact, here is the passage:

"...Circe was a dangerous sorceress who amused herself by changing men who came to her island into the animal nearest the nature of each man.  Some became lions, some rabbits, but most of them were changed into pigs and asses."

Too Late Vision

By Patti Wolf

Creeping through an endless tomb,
The entrance no longer exists,
No ending in sight,
No beginning and no end.

Seeing the light now,
Would only mean,
I had been blind to change,
Too late to change my path,
Vision too late is just regret.
